2005-2006 Season

This season we did not get out much: too much work and terrible un-safe conditions locally. However, I did get my wee pups out at the end, once most of the nasty snowy ice was gone. Pema and Java Bean are very promising little sled dogs. They are the most joyful and splendid creatures.

Twinkle and Rainy, leaders, on top of the world

Let's take a moment and admire the leaders. These two girls, Rainy and Twinkle, love adventure just like I do. We covered new terrain, navigated new road crossings and went further and faster to boot. Now, the rest of the team. Point: Turbo and Pearl. Swing: Triton and Nikka. Wheel: Kubota and Hakka. Such lovable and hard working doggies.

Siepa is a nice leader, though often outshone by his sister, Nikka. Today he had a chance to show off and help lead the team on extensive explorations of new territory. He enjoyed working with Hera, who is ladylike even when in charge.

2002-2003 Season

A Sunset ATV run

A sunset ATV run late fall/winter 2002-2003. Too much snow to use a rig, not enough snow to use a sled. Late Fall is hard. It always seems colder training before the snow really comes in, and conditions seem to vasilate between muddy and treacherously icey. You have enough miles on the dogs to really go...but the conditions frustrate you and present danger for the dogs if not handled well. I am quite sure I would not be out with my 'A' team in these types on conditions, not now when they are mature and have figure out that 10 dogs can pull a hona 450 if they really feel like it. On icey/snowy stuff.
