Frosty
Barking Brook's Home-at-Last Frosty Paws

I love you Frosty!
Frosty was a foster dog from Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue. I am a volunteer for this group, and volunteered to take an older foster who was in need of a more home-like foster setting. When I first got Frosty he could barely walk, he was wobbly and fell down all the time. He could go very slowly about 1 tenth of a mile. He loved to go though! And his strength quickly built, till he was no longer lagging behind but keeping up with his buddy Boomer. He would frolic to the front door at walk time, sometimes ending up falling on his face or tush, but happily bouncing along right away again. He loved cookie breaks, and did adorable happy jigs when I stopped to give everyone cookies. Because he was still stiff he could not sleep in a crate, he could not lay down unless he had more room and so I ended up letting him have my office when I wasn't home, with the door open to the backdeck. He was either never housebroken or too old to "hold it". We will never know, as he was found as a stray. His age, underlying medical conditions and history will remain a mytery. I am happy that I was able to love him, make him comfortable, take him for walks, and have him be by my side every work day for several months. It was sad to let him go, and I miss him, but I would never trade that chance I had to be his caretaker and have him for a friend. I do not know who he waits for at Rainbow Bridge. If he had a loving family or person who simply lost him. Or if he will wait for me there. He was such a handsome and sweet dog, I can only imagine he was loved by someone. My thoughts are he became senile and wandered off one day...got himself far away from home and couldn't remember how to get back or even what to go back to.
Here are some photos I'd like to share of my friend Frosty

Frosty turns to me to comment on the fine day.
Frosty and Boomer are having a discussion about politics. Both being older dogs, they have mature conversations like this.

*sigh* Fall is great.

Frosty poses for us here. He is a fine looking dog, and you can tell by watching him move he is built well and was bred out of good stock. He has adorable ears and a great coat.
A moment of silliness.
Oops, Frosty lands on his rear end.
The gang of three headed up the field.
I wonder if he was a sled dog? Look at his heads down drive, even as a senior.
Boomer's birthday in October. Snow!
Settling down for a nap after a good walk.
Lovable furry fellow.
Frosty really likes this large futon dog bed. Big enough to strech out and even share with a friend.
I know I am cute, but do you really need 100 pictures of me?
Big yawn...let's nap Frosty!
Ok Boomer, let's nap.
